I saw every pore of mine crystallize
Patterns on flesh, I'm tremulous
My mirror is tainted with curses
I'll avert my eyes
I'll avert my gaze
Everything is deafening
I have catalogued my nightmares
On the largest organ available
My throbbing veins, they thrash and tangle
They remind me to close my eyes for you

When I met you, years ago, these pieces of me became saturated with an unfamiliar feeling of delirium; or maybe just happiness. And when push came to shove I made you my crutch when I promised I wouldn't. You were immersed in translucence, under my blankets, and I knew things were different. I would be happier without me too.

I stopped feeling at 3AM. My memories osmosed into the back of my skull; absorbed like water into cardboard. I'm as dead as I've ever been. My hands are small and incapable of grasping in a way that makes things stay. I thought about veering on the interstate; plummet into the impact. A mess of trees and soil pulling at my body.
