Moon's Glow
02:49
|
|||
a family of raccoons knocks over my trash
i can see their shimmering eyes with a camera flash
they fight outside my window
underneath the moon's glow
whatever gets stuck in your head
whatever keeps you well fed
a flock of seagulls
pecking at the inside of your skull

Clutter
03:17
|
|||
nobody looks in that direction anymore
there's a hole where the sun comes in, everyone sees it but stays indoors
a room filled with haziness so thick you can't even see through it
but fumbling through clutter, one day i will find the floor
take the long way home
if you're not too far gone
i feel the fibers of the carpet and know there's more underneath
i rip into it with a knife and it's 6 feet deep
it's mostly dirt with occasional worms and a maze of decaying roots
i dig my way down into a cocoon and i go to sleep

Stale Bedroom
02:48
|
|||
sitting inside you make excuses to hide
from the sun again
something slimy drips down your body
and onto your bed
my laziness is like a parasite friend
if I let it in, it'll be here again
and it's so easy to be comfortable
when you forget that fresh air's worth the trouble
when I grow old, I hope I'm that local guy
that you see around
the person that holds and cradles the soul
of your tiny town
in the nighttime I'll go into the sea
and drink the water
in the morning I will writhe on the beach
like a baby lamb being prepped for slaughter
the more time I spend in this room
the less I wanna leave
i hate my bed but everything's scary
so I'll just go crazy
if you open the door and see me lying there
i'll look back with a double chin
cause I've been in this position for a minute
but I don't know how long it's been

Sap
03:02
|
|||
fingers fused into the ground
pumping chest and folding spine
blood starts turning into sap
just like it used to be
this time around
i was a bag of meat
it's time for me to say goodbye
and trade in the soles of my feet
i dig my toes into the soil
the wetness gets underneath my nails
maggots eat the worst and best parts of me
when i wake up to the sound of chirping birds
instead of authentic heat
i know i'll finally die in peace

Unwelcome
03:38
|
|||
in the back of the car
in the corner of the yard
i sleep until dawn
in this blade of grass
chlorophyll in the cracks
i'm smaller than that
i swim to the shoreline like my life depended on it
and i don't remember getting to shore
a body washes up in the silence of the cove
gets blown by wind
to the side of the road
picked up by a car
taken to the closest town
in the fall of 16
when it turned upside down
when we start to say you're not welcome in this town
the acid rain will keep pouring down
